4. LEADING SUCCESSFUL TRANSFORMATION & CHANGE IN THE WORKPLACE
In today’s dynamic environment, leading successful change is no longer a managerial luxury but a critical necessity. It can be said that if someone cannot lead change successfully, they cannot lead. Yet the frightening truth is that up to 70% of change initiatives fail. Organizations must adopt the philosophy of putting People ahead of Process and Technology (PPT mantra). Many change and transformation efforts do not achieve their desired results because they concentrate on process improvement, and strategies with technology as an enabler but they ignore the people aspect of the change initiative.
This session is designed to help the participants to execute change more effectively in their organization. They will learn about frameworks and tools that you can apply to lead change effectively; analyze different types of change – crisis, reactionary, anticipatory – and their different dynamics; and examine peoples’ attitudes towards change – from early adopters to hard-core resistors. The session will also assist them to enhance their leadership skills in the area of understanding peoples’ motivations, creating and sustaining a positive momentum for change, and building broad networks of support.
BRIEF PROFILE OF KEYNOTE SPEAKER – PROF SATTAR BAWANY
Professor Sattar Bawany is the CEO of Disruptive Leadership Institute (DLI) LLC, New York, and the C-Suite Certified Master Executive Coach of the Centre for Executive Education Pte Ltd.
He has 35 years of international business management experience, including 25 years in executive coaching, group facilitation, and leadership development and training with global management consulting firms. He has over 25 years of concurrent academic experience as an Adjunct Professor at various leading universities and currently serves as a Professor of Practice in Disruptive Leadership and Digital Transformation with the European International University – Paris (EIU). He is also a member of the Harvard Business Review Advisory Council.

The revised edition of “Leadership in Disruptive Times: Negotiating the New Balance” was published in April 2023.
